Kemah Spring Band Trip
The Spring Beginner Band Sprig trip to Kemah will take place Friday, May 1st, 2026. We will depart early that morning and travel to League City for a pizza Buffet at Cici’s Pizza at 11am. After lunch is over we will then travel to Kemah Boardwalk for the remainder of the day. A more specific itinerary will come out closer to the date.
The cost of the trip is $50. This includes both lunch and the park ticket. Our boosters are helping to offset the cost of the charter bus cost through our fall Fundraiser! This is bringing your cost down! All students will be expected to travel with us on the buses. Students and chaperons will be accepted on a First Come, First Served Basis. We will be initially accepting 8 chaperones for the trip. This number may increase depending on the number of students attending and availability of space on the bus.
We are asking that the trip enrollment form and payment ($50) be submitted to us no later than Friday, March 27th, but you can start bringing them to us at any time. Students will be unable to sign up for the trip after this date. Trip fees are non-refundable.

Private Lessons
It is recommended that members of Beginning Band take private lessons. This is the best way for students to enhance their musical knowledge and performance level, and it is a great way for them to prepare for Region Band auditions and Solo & Ensemble Festival. Most private lessons are taught at RMS or KHS, but some lesson instructors prefer to teach out of their homes. Below is a list of lesson teachers (by instrument) and their contact information.
Paying for private lessons is the responsibility of the student and their parents.
Band Handbook
This is the comprehensive program packet for the Riverwood Middle School Band. In it, you will find information about conduct and performance expectations, grading and attendance policy, concert and informal uniforms, and answers to frequently asked questions.
